Overview

Join us on this 10 Day Tour of Eco Historical Experience as we explore 5 different regions in Ghana namely, Greater Accra, Eastern Region, Volta Region, Ashanti Region and Central Region.

Itinerary

We say "Akwaaba" (Welcome).

Your host will meet and assist you at the airport.
A transfer will be waiting to bring you to your hotel. Depending on the time your flight arrives, you will have a welcome lunch or dinner.
Meal:Lunch or Dinner

A visit to the Old Lighthouse in Jamestown. You will have a great view of the city and the busy and colorful fishing harbour. Walk through The Kwame Nkrumah Masoleum ,the W.E.B DuBois Center And Independence Square. Finally, we will visit the Arts & Crafts Center .

Start the day with a visit to the Monkey Sanctuary and enjoy feeding bananas to the cheeky monkeys, who have been protected by the local people through an eco- tourism project.
In the afternoon we will continue to the Wli Falls close to Mount Afadja. The Wli Waterfalls is the highest waterfall in West Africa. The falls is locally known as Agoomatsa waterfalls - meaning, “Allow me to flow”. From the waterfalls we will take a short hike to the lower falls to see one of the most beautiful natural sights in Ghana.

We continue our journey to Mount Afadja in the morning, which is the highest mountain in Ghana.
Hike around the area and enjoy the amazing view over the lush, green Volta Region. Continue to Volta Lake to relax with a canoe ride in the afternoon.

After a scenic drive with beautiful views across rolling hills we will arrive at Asenema Falls in the Eastern Region, one of the hidden gems of the region. Learn about the plants and herbs specific to this area during a guided nature tour at Bunso Arboretum Forest Reserve.
Take a break and walk around this beautiful spot before we will continue our journey to Kumasi.

Continue to the Kente cloth weaving village, Adanwomase in Ashanti region, which carries on the centuries-old Kente-weaving tradition. After learning about the creation of Kente cloth you will be guided through the community and witness how to tap palm trees to produce the local palm wine.
Continue to visit a sacred Ashanti shrine. Later we will continue to Adinkra village where you can design your own print clothes. Visit a fish farm for the typical Tilapia fish - very popular and tasty - in the afternoon.

This morning will take us to the Manhyia Palace. Three Ashanti Kings used the building as their palace before it was converted into a museum in 1996. We will have a view of the historic site and visit the palace museum.
We will continue to The King Prempeh II Jubilee Museum, which houses some Ashanti ornaments, used back in the 16th century.
Encased within its own small museum, the Okomfo Anokye Sword Site is the spot where the ‘immovable’ Sword driven into the ground by Okomfo Anokye sits. We will end the day at the Cultural Center.

We will be en-route to Cape Coast in the Central Region. Our first stop will be the Assin Manso Ancestral Slave River. This the place where slaves had their last bath on African soil before being taken to the slave Castles of Elmina and Cape Coast along the coast.
We will continue to the the Elmina Castle. The castle was used to hold slaves before they were loaded unto ships to be sold in the Americas and The Carribbean.
We will spend the night in Cape Coast. In the evening, we will enjoy some entertainment by Ghanaian cultural dancers.

After your breakfast, we will visit Kakum National Park about 20 miles from Cape Coast. We shall walk on the Canopy bridge. This unique canopy trail sits at 130 feet (40 m) in the air and stretches between 7 trees, cross rivers and ravines. It covers a distance of 1,150 feet (350m).
Once we are done with the canopy adventure, we will proceed to Hans Cottage where we will build some sweet memories as we view the friendly crocodiles that are housed in it’s ponds. Take in the delightful and cosy environment and enjoy a meal at the on- water restaurant.
We will make our way back to Accra where you will be dropped at your hotel .

Day 10 :
..

This is your last day in Ghana. Depending on what time your flight leaves back home. You will have the day to yourself and we shall pick you from your hotel as your host sees you off at the airport. Meals: Breakfast
